What Direct Sales Management contributes to Cardinal Health

Direct Sales is responsible for driving sales and services to new and/or existing customers through face-to-face or telephone contact to meet individual and organizational sales objectives.

Direct Sales Management is responsible for strategic oversight and leadership direction within the Direct Sales function.

Accountabilities

  • Conduct PBC visits to the territory to supervise performance and monitor sales results and customer performance
  • Prepare and support contract development, analysis, and proposals
  • Develop tools for identifying and managing potential markets
  • Manage and execute business strategies to achieve defined results
  • Promote marketing solutions and programs
  • Participate in pharmacy conventions
  • Monitor and improve sales metrics
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with commercial goals
  • Lead and develop a team of Direct Sales Representatives to drive performance, accountability, and sustain revenue growth for Cardinal Health.
  • Establish and execute sales strategies that strengthen long‑term relationships between customers, Cardinal Health, and affiliated organizations such as Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs).
  • Oversee the management of customer portfolios involving solutions, products, and services ranging from simple to moderately complex sales engagements.
  • Ensure consistent achievement of sales objectives through effective territory planning, pipeline management, and forecast discipline.
  • Coach the team on value‑based selling, customer engagement cadence, and upselling strategies to maximize customer lifetime value.
  • Monitor market dynamics, customer needs, and competitive activity to position Cardinal Health as a trusted strategic partner.
  • Partner cross‑functionally with Marketing, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure flawless execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Drive accurate use of CRM, inventory, and reporting systems to support operational excellence and data‑driven decisions.
  • Maintain oversight of inventory management practices, demand forecasting, and audit compliance within the assigned area.
  • Foster a high‑performance sales culture rooted in ethical conduct, collaboration, continuous improvement, and Cardinal Health values.


Qualifications

  • 8-12 years of relevant experience, preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • Sales experience with supervisory responsibilities over sales teams, required
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, required
  • Fully Bilingual in: Spanish and English, required
  • Active Puerto Rico Driver License is required
  • Willingness to travel as needed
