Global Sourcing is responsible for creating and managing diverse strategic supplier partnerships that drive enterprise value with innovation, best cost and competitive advantages that benefit customers, suppliers and patients. Develops and executes strategic plans by leveraging market intelligence, industry knowledge and cross-functional collaboration. Competitive advantage is created through supplier selection and management, contract negotiation, supply chain optimization and risk mitigation.

Strategic Sourcing Global Products is responsible for managing a portfolio of Cardinal Brand products, raw materials, spend and suppliers. Development and execution of global sourcing strategies to achieve best total value, sustainable productivity and high levels of quality and service aligned with business objectives.

Job Summary

The Manager, Strategic Sourcing Global Products is an individual contributor that is responsible for $60M in annual spend for Cardinal Health branded OR accessories and medical essential categories.  This individual will participate in the development of the strategic sourcing strategy as well as execution of the sourcing process, and all of its associated activities. This job manages the global supplier portfolio and ensures that suppliers are able to provide strategic and tactical activities for Cardinal Health’s long-term plans. The job looks cross-functionally to ensure that supply chain and financial goals are met.

Responsibilities

  • Manages contracts and ensures suppliers comply with contract terms.
  • Ensures that disputes are addressed and leverages the legal team to negotiate resolutions and solutions.
  • Conducts financial analysis for deals and contracts.
  • Develops strategies for supply chain and risk management to improve supply base and supply quality.
  • Collaborates with marketing, sales, and suppliers to reduce price of service to ensure cost savings goals.
  • Investigates customer complaints and ensures that corrective action is taken in regard to suppliers.
  • Validates suppliers through RFPs
  • Develops deep industry insights leveraging outside-in supply market intelligence and industry insights.
  • Uses strategic thinking to develop longer-range supply strategies and plans that drive significant value while meeting the business requirements.
  • Influence business decisions relevant to the category strategy by having deep stakeholder engagement.
  • Sets aggressive continuous improvement goals for assigned categories and explores a broad set of value levers to deliver on targets.
  • Functions as Subject Matter Expert for assigned categories.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience in sourcing preferred.
  • Experience with building strong pipelines is highly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate effectively and interact with personnel at various levels of expertise on a global landscape highly desired.
  • Results-oriented, strategic thinker, able to work in team environments preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% (domestic).

Anticipated salary range: $105,100 - $150,100
