Sr. Outside Sales Rep - Specialty Pharmaceuticals

The job entails achieving sales objectives, expansion of business at existing accounts, providing input regarding account priorities, competitive intelligence, presenting to manufacturers, working with Acuity GPO and leveraging relationships in achievement of territory/business objectives.  Reports to Director of Sales.

  • Responsible for meeting quota within the territory.
  • Develop strong relationships and advocates within accounts through product and disease state knowledge.
  • Focused on driving depth and increasing product utilization in existing accounts.
  • Assist in formulating sales revenue projections, by account, for the territory.
  • Work with the FUSE team on needs for technology in the retina space.
  • Based on territory goals, develop call plans for the week/quarter ahead, and work with Director of Sales to review and agree to final plan.
  • Involved in planning marketing projects and participating in tradeshows.
  • Responsible for delivering sales presentations that focus on Metro Medical and Acuity’s capabilities and benefits.
  • Conduct in-services and presentations as needed.
  • Provide regular updates on competitive, clinical, and customer situations.
  • Maintain company standards involving ethical and moral character while professionally representing the company
  • Complete administrative requirements in a timely and accurate fashion
  • Comply with all company and HR policies

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience and 4+ years related experience in the medical device/pharmaceutical field. 
  • Clinical background or strong sales skills and track record is ideal.
  • Retinal sales experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills; ability to adapt to changing work priorities.
  • Proficiency with PC-based office computers, including familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Salesforce, PowerPoint, and Outlook required
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to travel up to 60% of time
  • Proven product knowledge in business area
  • Valid driver's license
