What Machine Operation contributes to Cardinal Health
Manufacturing is responsible for cost of production and maintenance activities including process improvement, supply chain management, quality assurance, employee safety and engagement, and environmental commitment.
Job Summary
The Operator 2, Machines Operations is responsible for the operation and the troubleshooting of complex machines within the facility. The job also operates simple machines as necessary. The job is also responsible for giving guidance to Operator 1s.
Responsibilities
- Must observe all safety precautions and regulations at all times in all areas where duties are performed. Will be responsible for reporting all safety hazards and potential unsafe working conditions. Must attend all monthly scheduled Safety Meetings.
- Patrol Slasher every 10 minutes.
- Keep leases straight. Laps and drawbacks removed.
- Doff Slasher as needed. Transports by monorail to racks in storage area and places in proper racks.
- Places empty beams in position and starts Slasher.
- Follow TPM cleaning schedule.
- Help creel Slashers and run new set through Slashers.
- Remove all yarn remaining on beams.
- Remove empty section beams and place in designated KanBan staging area.
- Pick lease and starts Slasher.
- Keep close watch on all controls to ensure warps are being made properly.
- Complete warp tickets and attaches to warps when Doffed. Showing Slasher number, date, construction, number of ends, yards on beam and initials the ticket according to assigned Slasher.
- Complete section beam defect form and places on the creel at the proper section beam.
- Completes form for Slasher defects and ends out of lease.
- Each Operator is to write down production on sheet to be turned in daily at shift change (Note) An assigned operator will bring down paperwork which will consist of:
- Production sheet compiled from all 3 Slashers.
- Hoist Sheet compiled from all three operators.
- Turn in TPM audit sheet (if set comes off on your shift).
- Follow all safety rules, plant rules, department rules and implement total quality in his/her area of responsibility.
- Participate in Plant Corrective Action Team Program and Plant Safety Program.
- Report all unsafe conditions in a timely manner.
- Lift or exert force up to 50 pounds. Stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience, preferred
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
Anticipated hourly range: $18.00/hour
