Product Manager - Commercial Technology

Product Manager, Commercial Technologies

Fuse @ Cardinal Health is looking for a highly driven product manager who’s excited to help imagine, define, and build the future of healthcare.

The healthcare space is exploding with the convergence of new technologies, health sector shifts, and a growing demand for open access to health information. As more people interact with the world via the web and mobile devices, expectations are higher than ever for real value delivered through thoughtfully crafted experiences. It’s a landscape ripe for inventive product collaboration with design, engineering, and business to build products for the next generation.

In this role you’ll need to:

  • Gain a deep understanding of the business—how it works and the role your product plays in it
  • Be hands-on with users and customers to build empathy and understanding
  • Collaborate to define and clearly communicate a compelling product vision
  • Lead and motivate a cross-functional team of designers and engineers through the product lifecycle, using iterative design & development methodologies
  • Pair with product designers to navigate user feedback and insights
  • Work with engineering to adapt to technical constraints without comprising user needs
  • Partner with UX and engineering to break big ideas into small, achievable parts with clear goals and measures for success
  • Prioritize backlog and plan product sprints and other activities—weighing risk, user/customer value, dependencies, and effort in light of business objectives
  • Deliver on deadlines, while building trust and strong relationships at all levels
  • Define and implement key measures for overall product health, communicate regularly,  and optimize based on results
  • Maintain the strategic vision even when operating at the execution level

The ideal candidate will…

  • Have strong opinions that are loosely held—you may often be right but don’t have to be
  • Have experience developing and communicating compelling product value propositions to get stakeholder buy-in
  • Have a balance of technical confidence and business modeling experience within healthcare or in similarly complex industries
  • Use the expertise and knowledge of others—team, users, stakeholders—to be better
  • Adopt a team mentality; be willing to do what needs to be done regardless of title or role and grab a shovel to solve a problem
  • Have proven experience product managing within a B2B and B2B2C product space
  • Be highly analytical and curious about data and its insights to improve your product

Satisfaction in this role can come from…

  • Being the go-to expert for your product—what comes next and what’s happening now
  • Appreciating and enjoying the ongoing balance of vision, strategy, and execution
  • Motivating your product team and help them understand the impact of their work
  • Channeling a passion for innovating with technology and design to improve healthcare and spark significant growth for a Fortune 15 company

Some baseline requirements…

  • 3-5 years practicing product management (at least some in an agile environment)
  • A minimum BA/BS in a relevant field (e.g. Computer Science, Business) or equivalent real-world experience
  • Conversant in user experience research and design activities
  • Strong technical understanding and comfort talking to software engineers and UX team members
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Mature interpersonal skills with your partners in design, engineering and other business functions (marketing, sales, customer success)
  • Experience shipping a product or large feature set to market
  • Ability to travel as needed
