Our comprehensive suite of Medical and Health Physics Services can help customers manage their radiation safety compliance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission and State regulations so they can focus on patient care. As trusted consultants, we help our customers maintain the proper storage, handling, measurement and testing of equipment utilized to measure diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals. Medical and Health Physics Services include compliance activities, such as: equipment testing, calibration, training, dosimetry, licensing, auditing, and other services tailored to each customer’s needs.
Anticipated salary range: $105,800.00-$151,100.00

Responsibilities
- 90% travel for routine customer visits in various states such as, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, South Dakota, Colorado, and other states requiring team coverage.
- Manages operations and supervises professional employees and business support staff.
- Completes radiation safety audits and ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable) reviews as required.
- Conducts timely physics surveys for radiation diagnostic imaging modalities – SPECT, PET, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, X-ray, and Mammography.
- Performs patient dose calculations from various imaging modalities as needed.
- Develops and/or updates policies and procedures pertaining to the use of radioactive materials and radiological imaging procedures.
- Provides radiation safety training to medical and/or ancillary staff at hospital and outpatient facilities.
- Designs appropriate radiation shielding for site planning.
- Evaluation and/or calibration of radiation measuring equipment used with radioactive materials to assess compliance with state and/or national standards.
- Provides consultation to healthcare facilities regarding compliance with radioactive materials licenses and applicable state and/or federal regulations.
- Supports customer radiation safety committees through meeting attendance, policy review and advise on radiation safety related issues.
- Prepares radioactive materials license applications, renewals, and amendment requests.
- Proficiency in basic health physics concepts (survey instrument use, survey technique, leak testing, dosimetry review, dose estimates)
- Proficiency in Agreement State and NRC regulations
- Draws on best practices and comprehensive technical knowledge to advise customers
- Tracks internal trends and suggests process improvements based on observations
- Submits accurate billing for services and manages financials for region
Qualifications
- 8-12 years of experience, preferred
- Graduate degree in medical physics, radiologic physics, physics, or other relevant physical science or engineering discipline from an accredited institution, preferred
- Experience in physics testing of SPECT, PET, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, X-ray, and Mammography, preferred
- Diagnostic Radiology board certification issued by the American Board of Radiology, preferred
- 90% travel
- Excellent professional writing skills
- Ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team
