Manager, Transportation Procurement

What Transportation contributes to Cardinal Health
Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply, and manufacturing planning.

Transportation is responsible for the movement of materials and products between suppliers, manufacturing, warehousing, and the customer. Management of transportation assets and systems to gain greater service, cost efficiency and optimization of processes.

The Transportation Procurement team is responsible for the development of network-wide pharmaceutical service purchasing strategy and deployment. They oversee all transportation procurement execution, carrier onboarding, budgeting activities, and benchmarking projects. This team procures services for a network that delivers the highest levels of reliability, speed, and cost while ensuring financial structures remain best in class.
 

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of direct reports
  • Build, enable, and drive multi-year strategy both within direct scope as well as for the Transportation organization 
  • Leads the development of contracts and business rules to achieve specific goals in logistics
  • Develops new practices, processes, metrics, or models
  • Lead large meetings with executive stakeholders
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and liaise with internal and/or external stakeholders, including senior leaders 
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • 8-12 years of experience preferred
  • Supply Chain Certification (i.e. APICS) preferred
  • Experience with SAP, JDA, Manhattan preferred
  • Experience with SQL, Alteryx, Tableau preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Multi-modal domestic transportation background preferred
  • Working knowledge of logistics management technologies

Anticipated salary range: $85,100 - $127,680
