What Direct Sales contributes to Cardinal Health

Direct Sales is responsible for driving sales and services to new and/or existing customers through face-to-face or telephone contact to meet individual and organizational sales objectives. Responsible for cold calling, prospecting and building relationships that will increase account penetration, revenue growth and customer satisfaction within a specified product line, business segment and/or geography. Focus areas will include driving new business as well as increasing penetration in existing accounts. Sells products and services that help facilitate patient care predominantly through optimizing the supply chain and the selection and management of the products within.

This position is part of the Edgepark Medical channel of Cardinal Health at-Home, and can be based in Twinsburg, OH, Salt Lake City, Denver, or within a major metropolitan area of the East Coast.


  • Sell the Edgepark Medical DME distribution services and EP/Diabetes value proposition to Endocrinology call points within assigned book of accounts
  • Call on healthcare professionals (endocrinologists or internal medicine physicians) to drive patient referrals and new business to Edgepark
  • Build, maintain and further develop HCP referral sales relationships (act as primary point of contact)
  • Drive growth within book of accounts, work to consistently exceed quota for revenue, margin and market share (patient count)
  • Engage in prospecting and business development; manage sales funnel and drive towards strategic wins
  • Identify opportunities and execute growth initiatives (sales cycles are short in nature, approximately 1-3 months)
  • Must be able to demonstrate success within a difficult and complex selling environment
  • Demonstrate an entrepreneurial approach to sales and customize messaging to adapt to the needs of the customer
  • Demonstrate the ability to independently manage book of accounts and provide scaled business solutions to Endocrinology offices
  • Manage sales activity, sales funnel, prospecting, account growth within Salesforce (60-100 accounts)
  • Travel, when needed, to meet with major accounts face-to-face and further develop rapport with Endocrinology HCPs or conduct quarterly business reviews


  • Bachelor's degree
  • Min 3 to 5 years related sales experience (inside/outside sales and account management)
  • Healthcare sales experience highly preferred
  • B2B sales experience highly preferred
  • Goal-driven, entrepreneurial mindset
  • Ability to travel 25% of time
  • Proven product knowledge in business area
  • Valid driver's license
