Warehouse Operations Supervisor

Cardinal Health is currently seeking a Supervisor, Warehouse Operations to lead a team on the night shift (Sunday - Thursday 10:45pm - 7:00am) at our facility in Mississauga. Reporting to the Manager, Distribution Operations, the Operations Supervisor is responsible for the planning, directing and coordination of activities related to their team within a fast pace, 24 hour/5 day per week facility. This role will supervise at team of approx. 25+ individuals and will work to ensure the achievement of all targets including safety standards, quality standards, department budget, productivity levels, and customer service levels.

Your Contributions to the Organization will be:  

  • Overseeing the day-to-day direction, coordination, and evaluation of the department

  • Planning, scheduling, assigning, and directing work; assessing performance; rewarding and performance managing employees; quickly addressing concerns and resolving issues

  • Working closely with management team and operations leadership

  • Coordinating with other supervisors to transfer employees between departments as necessary to balance workload and maintain employee deployment and overall performance

  • Monitoring labour hours and advising distribution manager of changes in procedure or conditions that impact operating costs

  • Evaluating individual performance to ensure all employees perform above the standards for safety, quality and production

  • Ensuring all employees understand and uphold the company values and conduct expectations

  • Maintaining an open and respectful communication with employees and providing ongoing coaching and mentoring to the team

  • Identifying and leading continuous improvement projects within the operations department

  • Creating and maintaining a fun, safe and productive work environment!

This Job might be for you if: 

  • You possess a minimum of 2 years related supervisory experience

  • You have proven leadership, problem solving and team building skills

  • You are able to interpret and provide training on policies and procedure

  • You have excellent communication skills (verbal, written and group presentation skills)

  • You enjoy working with computers and have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • You enjoy problem-solving and multi-tasking, adapting to change and reprioritizing on short-notice

  • You have a strong Workplace Health and Safety background; WSIB and First Aid certification preferred

  • You’ve had Operational Excellence experience, which is preferred

  • You’ve Material Handling Equipment Training experience, which is considered an asset

  • You have University/college education, which is preferred
