What Operations Management contributes to Cardinal Health

Operations is responsible for customer product fulfillment in a distribution environment while ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency targets are achieved. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of products, transportation, inventory management as well as employee and customer engagement. Operations Management is responsible for strategic oversight and leadership direction within the warehouse.

Job Summary
The Mgr, Site Operations is accountable for the design, evolution, and execution of Cardinal Health’s multi-channel logistics solutions. Responsible for leading an internal team and partnering with healthcare facilities to increase efficiencies and reduce operating costs. The Site Manager works to create value for customers by increasing cash flow, optimizing FTEs, unlocking valuable real estate, and providing data & analytics to inform economic decisions. The Site Manager develops yearly business plans and personal objectives that support the overall achievement of company goals.

This leader will manage cross functional teams of roughly 24 direct/indirect employees to successfully meet and exceed our operational, customer, employee, and organizational long-term commitments within our operations site in Salt Lake City, UT.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in managing or leading distribution/warehouse operations preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
  • Demonstrate a successful track record in driving operational efficiencies, safety, and quality.
  • Exhibit proven leadership experience with a focus on talent development and retention.
  • Lead change management initiatives and influence at all levels.
  • Manage P&L responsibilities effectively.
  • Engage in customer-facing roles with a proven track record of collaboration and problem resolution.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, complex environment.
  • Utilize strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, including Pivot Tables and spreadsheets.
  • Implement continuous improvement projects and initiatives.
  • Solve complex problems and drive change.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct a team of 4 direct reports and 20 indirect associates, that includes outbound operations.
  • Directs and oversees the overall distribution workflow of bulk, logical unit of measure, 3PL and associated activities including inventory management and transportation.
  • Supports the assigned customer agreements ensuring inventory and replenishment of agreed medical and surgical supplies on the program are in accordance to the specified Customer delivery requirements.
  • Coordinates departmental activities through planning with management to ensure the total objectives are accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
  • Builds customer relationships in conjunction with the regional commercial sales and service teams, interprets customer needs and assesses their business requirements.
  • Applies broad knowledge of trends and best practices in a manner that ensures quality service and achievement of agreed upon results.
  • Ensures collaboration and influence with other functional areas, establishing effective working relationships with business partners.
  • Implements cost effective systems of control over operating expenditures, administrative and analytic systems, training, and staffing.
  • Identifies opportunities through root cause analysis to improve current processes and evolve best practice governance.
