Truck Driver

Shift:

Monday-Friday 6:00am-2:00pm

What Truck Driver contributes to Cardinal Health

Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.

Responsible for the movement of materials and products between suppliers, manufacturing, warehousing and the customer. Management of transportation (trucking) assets and systems to gain greater service, cost efficiency and optimization of processes.

Responsibilities:

• Shuttle 53 foot trailers to and from our off site warehouse for raw material deliveries.

• Pull loaded trailers from our docks and replacing them with empty trailers from our trailer pool.

• Perform a yard sweep once a day and complete an inventory of loaded and unloaded trailers.

• Expected to be trained to assist in picking raw material from our outside warehouse as the need arises.

• Pull up yard trailers to assigned docks as needed to support plant operations.

• Periodically will be required to bring the tractor to Ryder for fuel and maintenance

• Check with security each morning to get information on what trailers were delivered the night before

• Driver is responsible on Friday afternoons, to take the bills to the guard for weekend pickup and on Monday mornings, to pick up the bills from the guard and take them to the warehouse office clerk

• Comply with all Cardinal safety requirements .

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience preferred
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• CDL is required for this role
• Current Medical Examiner's Certificate preferred

• Maintains appropriate licenses, training and certifications
• Works on assignments that are moderately difficult requiring judgment in resolving issues
• May assist in recommendation of processes on new assignments
• Adheres to all quality guidelines
• Works with limited supervision
• Work occasionally involves review of output by work lead or supervisor
• May provide general guidance or technical assistance to less experienced team members

Anticipated hourly range: $15.30 per hour - $22.19 per hour
