Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Chemist to join our team. Senior Specialists will be responsible for receiving samples, preparing solutions, operating analytical equipment, and interpreting results to ensure compliance with specifications. Safe handling of potentially hazardous materials and adherence to current Good Documentation Practices is expected. Regular job duties also require the investigation of out of specification or unexpected results, including initiation of deviations, corrective and preventative actions, and change plans through the proper change control procedures.
Responsibilities
- Operates analytical equipment such as HPLC, GC, pH meters, Osmometers, Dose Calibrators, and HPGes.
- Calibrates and maintains laboratory instrumentation.
- Documents all work according to cGDP procedures.
- Writes investigations, deviations, and CAPAs as applicable.
- May write and execute protocols designed for the qualification of analytical instruments.
- Interacts regularly with manufacturing, quality assurance, and engineering teams.
- Ensures results are consistent with acceptable test parameters and reports abnormal findings from Analytical tests.
- Actively identifies deficiencies and partners with appropriate teams to improve or correct processes as well as prevent errors.
- Performs data entry and assists in the release of the final product.
- Ability to network across business and functional units to achieve positive outcomes.
- Escalates complex issues to management in a timely manner.
- Exhibits punctuality and good time management to ensure testing is completed and results are reported in an efficient manner.
- Demonstrates a commitment to the organizations mission, vision and values supporting organizational decisions and behaviors. Contributes to the development and implementation of systems and processes ensuring strategic goal attainment.
- Works well in a team, lifts coworkers up, respects and values diversity.
- Ensure proper safety precautions are followed including gowning in PPE, working in fume hoods and glove boxes, and careful handling of hazardous material.
- Undertakes training on processes, analytical equipment, and authorized user licensure.
- Authors, edits, and reviews-controlled documents.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology) or equivalent work experience preferred
- 2+ years’ experience in related field preferred
- Visual acuity and ability to differentiate colors in liquid solutions.
- Experience working with 21 CFR 210, 211 in the FDA regulated industry preferred.
- Organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, and communicative.
- Strong technical writing skills preferred.
- Analytical equipment repair and maintenance skills preferred.
Anticipated salary range: $67,500-$95,000
