What Process Engineering contributes to Cardinal Health

Engineering is responsible for capital project implementations, performing research and analyses to develop design options for components, products, systems and processes.

Process Engineering is responsible for analyzing and assessing supplier and in-house processes to determine process capability. Identify and drive process improvements. Support supplier assessment and selection process. Directs external resources / contractors as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Support capital and process improvement projects.
  • Respond to process and equipment escalation with a hands-on troubleshooting approach.
  • Write protocols and perform validations of new/ improved materials and processes.
  • Create and maintain quality systems documentation.
  • Support production by resolving process and material related quality problems.
  • Implement cost savings and process improvement processes while using FMEA, process capability, DOE, Gage R&R and other tools.
  • Implement engineering and process controls for improved safety.
  • Other duties as assigned. 


Qualifications

  • +4 years of experience, preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • Experience with process controls, equipment design, and AutoCAD preferred
  • Six Sigma experience/certification preferred. 
  • Experience with Project Management skills and techniques preferred
  • Experience problem solving and decision analysis skills preferred

Anticipated salary range: $67,500-$101,220/year

The salary range listed is an estimate. Pay at Cardinal Health is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographical location, relevant education, experience and skills and an evaluation of internal pay equity.


What is expected of you and others at this level

  • Manage the manufacturing engineering team
  • Develop, implement, and manage process improvement projects. 
  • Generating and maintaining Quality System documentation. 
  • Ensures FDA/ISO/EN compliance in areas of responsibility. 
  • Supports Production personnel by resolving process and material related quality problems in support of the various manufacturing departments. 
  • Supports plant cost reduction and process improvement projects through the use of various tools such as FMEA, process capability, DOE, Gage R&R, etc. 
  • Develops manufacturing processes, production floor layouts and associated tools.  
  • Reviews new designs for manufacturability.
  • Designs process improvements to reduce product cost, process cycle time and improved product quality. 
  • Other duties as assigned
