Sr Analyst, Application Development and Maintenance - Kafka

What Application Development & Maintenance contributes to Cardinal Health

Information Technology oversees the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. This function anticipates, plans, and delivers Information Technology solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive business value.

Application Support is responsible for doing Monitoring, Troubleshooting and Reporting for systems and other IT products required to achieve the company's business objectives.  Application development knowledge is a plus.

  • Demonstrates problem solving ability that allows for effective and timely resolution of system issues including but not limited to production outages.
  • Strong documentation skills that will record known issues and troubleshooting processes and not limited to run documents.
  • Demonstrates general understanding of hardware/software platforms including but not limited to operating systems, databases, application servers, web servers and integration technologies.
  • Analyzes production system operations using tools such as monitoring, outage root cause analysis to identify and drive change that ensures continuous improvement in system stability and performance.
  • Able to monitor applications and do health checks.
  • Ability to communicate well with the business on any ongoing issues, reports and concerns
  • Perform daily ops maintenance, RCA / support and upgrades
  • Perform automation analysis, design (*as needed)
  • Implement Kafka streaming libraries for new integration

Skillset Required

  • Kafka (1-2 years exp)
  • SQL

Good to have: Java (Good to have), API experience, GCP cloud experience, Splunk, PCF is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience
  • 2-4 years experience in related field preferred
  • Working knowledge of two or more technologies preferred
  • Hands on experience on SQL and Java is a Advantage.
