Pharmacy Technician Remote Order Entry

Through our remote service, we serve acute-care hospitals and community based retail pharmacies, providing you an opportunity to practice hospital pharmacy outside of a hospital setting. This unique approach to pharmacy operations results in flexible work schedules, a team environment and time for you to focus on what you do best – patient care.

Cardinal Health Remote Pharmacy Services is currently searching for a highly energetic and clinically oriented pharmacy technician to join our remote pharmacy team.  The pharmacy technician is responsible for answering the telephone, handling calls from hospital staff and retail patients,  and assisting pharmacists with order entry operations. 

This position requires you to work within our licensed pharmacy and not from your home.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Pharmacists and other Technicians with daily tasks

  • Handle doctor calls and faxes

  • Provide excellent customer service to customers

  • Works on projects as requested by Pharmacy Director

  • Performs order entry as needed

  • Maintain friendly and helpful attitude at all times when dealing with medical professionals and customers

  • Knowledge and understanding of a retail pharmacy

Qualifications:

  • High School degree or equivalent

  • Previous work experience in a hospital setting and/or retail pharmacy is preferred

  • Proven customer service skills

  • Must be registered or licensed as required by the State Board of Pharmacy

  • National certification is preferred

  • 3+ years Pharmacy Technician experience, preferred

  • Maintains appropriate licenses, training and certifications

  • Works on routine assignments that require some problem resolution

  • Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods

  • Adheres to all quality guidelines

  • Works under moderate degree of supervision

  • Work typically involves regular review of output by work lead or supervisor

  • Refers complex unusual problems to supervisor

Anticipated hourly range: $17.8 per hour - $25.39 per hour
