Manufacturing is responsible for cost of production and maintenance activities including process improvement, supply chain management, quality assurance, employee safety and engagement, and environmental commitment.

Material Handling uses a variety of equipment such as forklifts, conveyers, cranes, handcarts, and power trucks to move materials, parts, assemblies and finished products or goods within a plant, office or warehouse. May maintain records.

Shift Details: Monday - Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Job Summary

The Associate II of Material Handling is responsible for ensuring orderly movement of raw material and or finished goods.  They also record and maintain accurate inventory records for either raw material and or finished goods. 

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual inspections of incoming and outgoing materials for visible damages

  • Use PIT to move material on a timely basis consistent with production requirements

  • Stock department machines/equipment with adequate and correct material or packaging supplies

  • Complete inventory control transaction sheets

  • Move full material boxes, pallets and carts to designated area

  • Fill material feeding equipment

  • Maintain certification to operate a forklift and powered lift

  • Fill in as a relief operator on machines as needed

  • Empty trash containers near the end of shift, consolidate and move to designated area

  • Perform cleaning duties

  • Comply with statutory responsibility under the national/federal regulations - take reasonable care of your own health, safety and welfare along with teammates that may be affected by your acts at work

  • Follow established EH&S procedures and policies and encourage teammates to follow them

  • Participate in EH&S activities such as: root cause analysis, finding solutions, implementing improvements, inspections, and meetings

  • Complete and remain up to date on required EH&S training

  • Follow all ISO 13485, GMP, OSHA and plant/corporate standards, policies, and procedures

  • Observe all safety precautions and regulations at all times in all areas where duties are performed

  • Report all safety incidents, hazards, and potential unsafe working conditions

  • Work overtime as required

  • Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience, preferred

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred

  • Understanding of FDA regulations surrounding the manufacturing of medical devices, and GMPs

  • Experience with Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing tools

Pay rate: $23.00 per hour (Includes shift differential)
