What Manufacturing Embark Development Program contributes to Cardinal Health

Embark is Cardinal Health’s early career development program designed to build capability through professional development within a functional area. The goal of the Embark program is to prepare and develop participants to build the skills and knowledge they need to own their development and drive their career.

The Manufacturing Embark Development Program provides differentiated development in the form of on-the-job learning, guided curriculum, mentoring, executive exposure, and leadership experience to build a pipeline of talent within the Manufacturing function.

Location:  Rayong, Thailand
Start Date: 1 July, 2025

Why choose the Manufacturing Early Career Development Program?

Participants have the opportunity to develop strong manufacturing and engineering knowledge as well as build relationships through exposure to challenging assignments and diverse experiences. Participants will gain valuable experience in a highly regulated medical manufacturing setting that manufactures and distributes healthcare products to a broad range of healthcare customers. The program is designed to give participants knowledge of both technical engineering and leadership capabilities.

Participants will complete a 12-month assignment within a team at a manufacturing site. Roles will be determined based on business need and may include:

  • Manufacturing Production operations

  • Process innovation and process management

  • Medical product and process validation processes

  • Facility management

  • Lean Six Sigma methodologies; Root cause problem solving

  • Quality and regulatory

  • Leading professional and manufacturing teams

  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Process Engineering

Accountabilities in this role:

  • Analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures

  • Quality and results orientation with a proactive approach

  • Ability to prioritize requests effectively and understand importance and meet deadlines

  • Ability to work independently with moderate level of direction

  • Must be willing to adapt to shifting requirements or priorities

Qualifications:
For consideration in the Cardinal Health Early Career Development Program, you must meet a combination of the following requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering or a related field, preferred

  • Expected graduation of winter 2024 or spring 2025, preferred

  • Recommended GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale (or country equivalent)

  • Knowledge of supply chain principles, production process engineering or other improvement techniques, preferred

  • Bilingual in English and Thai oral and written, required

  • Previous internship experience, preferred

  • Strong leadership, communication and analytical skills

  • Participation in extracurricular activities and/or community service

  • Must have unlimited work authorization in the Thailand with no requirement for future sponsorship
