Engineering is responsible for performing research and analyses to develop design options for components, products, systems and processes.

Manufacturing Engineering is responsible for developing manufacturing processes, production floor layouts and associated tools. Reviews new designs for manufacturability. Designs process improvements to reduce product cost, process cycle time and improved product quality.

Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer plans, organizes, directs and leads project activities throughout the plant. This job serves as a project engineer and works with functional areas of the plant to develop improvements and resolve day to day issues. The Manufacturing Engineer actively seeks opportunities for improvement and ensures that all tasks comply with set safety and compliance procedures. This job is forward thinking and stays abreast of technology and engineering developments.

Responsibilities

  • Develops plans for project execution including determining project scope, setting preliminary budgets, and managing project schedules’ goals.

  • Conducts IQ, OQ, PQ, and other qualification activities.

  • Monitors equipment OEE to identify process improvement opportunities.

  • Runs tests to ensure that equipment operation is safe, maintainable, and produces the expected quality of product.

  • Implements engineering/process controls to improve quality and safety metrics.

  • Identifies opportunities for capital improvement, monitors purchasing demands to ensure efficient manufacturing plant operations.

  • Actively communicates with Engineering Managers on projects updates, milestones and upgrades.

  • Works closely with designated training personnel to provide training on new and/or modified equipment.

  • Ensures compliance with all Contractor Rules and Regulations in the execution of projects.

  • Communicates with plant management on project issues within their respective departments and collaborates with them to develop feasible solutions.

Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of technical experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferred.

  • Experience in implementing and sustaining automation equipment, preferred.

  • Associates degree or greater in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred.

  • Six Sigma experience/certification, preferred. 

  • Experience with Project Management skills and techniques, preferred.

  • Experience problem solving and decision analysis skills, preferred.

Anticipated salary range: $54,400 - $81,585
