What Electrical Engineering Technician contributes to Cardinal Health

Engineering is responsible for performing research and analyses to develop design options for components, products, systems and processes.

Electrical Engineering Technicians are responsible for building, testing and troubleshooting electrical/electronic circuitry and other systems used in finished equipment.

Shift Details: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM CST


Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience, preferred
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • Proven mechanical ability

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and coordinate daily electrical maintenance and repair work – assign tasks and provide instructions as needed
  • Maintain, repair and adjust a variety of electronic equipment and devices – autoclave, sterilizer, machine sensing, timing and control units, production equipment, etc.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment – test components and circuits using testing equipment
  • Disassemble, remove, adjust or replace worn or defective parts – reassemble or install components ensuring the unit is operating correctly
  • Design, layout, build, test or install electronic equipment
  • Install electrical systems – prepare work area, measure, cut, bend and install conduit, thread wires, splice and connect, install fixtures, switches, relays, circuit breakers and control devices
  • Lead and organize projects
  • Use a variety of hand tools of electrical/electronic test instruments – order and maintain equipment and spare parts inventory
  • Set up and monitor preventative maintenance for plant electrical utilities
  • Comply with statutory responsibility under the national/federal regulations - take reasonable care of your own health, safety and welfare along with teammates that may be affected by your acts at work
  • Follow established EH&S procedures and policies and encourage teammates to follow them
  • Participate in EH&S activities such as: root cause analysis, finding solutions, implementing improvements, inspections, and meetings
  • Complete and remain up to date on required EH&S training
  • Follow all ISO 13485, GMP, OSHA and plant/corporate standards, policies, and procedures
  • Observe all safety precautions and regulations at all times in all areas where duties are performed
  • Report all safety incidents, hazards, and potential unsafe working conditions
  • Work overtime as required
  • Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation

  • Has latitude to make decisions in exceptional circumstances within established guidelines
  • Provides guidance to less experienced team members
  • May have team leader responsibilities but does not formally supervise

Anticipated hourly range: $25.80 per hour - $38.64 per hour
