What Production Set-up & Maintenance contributes to Cardinal Health

Sets up, aligns, monitors, and/or calibrates production equipment. Assists and may perform maintenance on machines and cleans up minor chemical spills in assigned area as well as glassware, ovens, and other equipment.

Job Summary:

The Facilities Technician will complete custodial and janitorial job duties within the plant. They will be responsible for overall repair, maintenance, cleaning of the site. This person will have constant communication with and work closely with other Facilities Technicians to complete the required job duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain overall cleanliness of facility
  • Duties may include painting floors and walls, plumbing repairs, other facility repair work as needed.
  • Clean designated areas of plant as required, i.e. (restrooms, cafeterias, main isles, offices, etc.) with approved disinfectants and cleaning supplies.   Sweep, mop and vacuum on daily basis.   Empty and remove trash and restock supplies.
  • Wax and/or buff floors using powered rotary equipment.
  • Strip and wax office areas per PM schedule.
  • Perform assigned PM’s by the required due date.
  • Remove and dump trash into designated containers or trash compactor system.  Dump all outside garbage and scrap metal hoppers as required.
  • Use a variety of mops, brooms, cleaning supplies, solutions, carts, ladders, power vacuum, and cleaning equipment.
  • Responsible to observe department’s safety regulations and to use personnel protective equipment as required.
  • Work closely with cleaning crew and facilities technician
  • Lift, push, pull or move material up to 50 pounds on a regular basis

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED preferred
  • 1 year previous work experience preferred

  • Works within clearly defined Standard Operating Procedures and/or scientific methods

  • Works under close supervision. All work is reviewed for accuracy
  • Any deviations from the norm are approved by the supervisor before proceeding

Pay rate: $19.30 per hour
