Engineer, Application Development and Maintenance - Senior Business Analyst (LRCGQ)

What Application Development & Maintenance brings to Cardinal Health:

Information Technology oversees the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. This function anticipates, plans, and delivers Information Technology solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive business value.

Application Development & Maintenance performs configuration or coding to develop, enhance and sustain the organization's software systems in a cross-functional team environment through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices. This job family programs and configures end user applications, systems, databases, and websites to achieve the organization's internal needs and externally facing business needs. Application Development & Maintenance partners with business leaders, investigates user needs and conducts regular assessments, maintenance, and enhancements of existing applications.

This role will be focused on implementing and supporting applications in the Quality and Regulatory (QRA) functional area within LRCGQ (Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, Government and Quality) GBTS department.

Accountabilities in this role

  • Maintain relationships with business associates in Quality and Regulatory department.
  • Works directly with business unit clients to understand business processes and elicit requirements.
  • Coordinate an enterprise QMS implementation for multiple business processes.
  • Triage product run issues and assist in engaging the appropriate parties to resolve the issue in a timely manner.
  • Act as a Functional Lead responsible to manage the scope and deliverables for each process stream leveraging software development lifecycle methodologies.
  • Conduct the requirements elicitation process and ensure solution delivery meets business requirements while leveraging existing solution capabilities wherever possible.
  • Accountable for validating the new eQMS processes by working closely with software validation quality and business teams.
  • Build relationships and the governance model to work with the application vendor.
  • Maintain relationships with SaaS vendors.

Analytic skills

  • Familiarity with Document Management is a plus but not required.
  • Possess strong excel skills. Ideally, worked with large data sets.
  • Possess strong documentation and communication skills and be able to drive stakeholder meetings.
  • Assist and able to work with other IT team(s) for data extraction.
  • Assist and able to work with key owners for data extraction and data loading.
  • Perform root cause analysis.

Testing and Validation

  • Review and analyze software requirements.
  • Experience in creating Test Plans, Document Test Cases, Discover Bugs within Software and Analyze Test Results
  • Very good understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
  • Manage defects found and work with stakeholders to analyze, prioritize and resolve them.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience as an IT developer/systems analyst in a corporate environment
  • Excellent listening, communication, and presentation skills. Must be able to present and communicate technical concepts in a clear and concise manner to key leadership and stakeholders.
  • Proven experience leading cross functional teams and IT projects.
  • Prior experience working in an FDA validated environment supporting quality is preferred.
  • Prior experience working with a SaaS provider is recommended
