The Data & Analytics Function oversees the analytics life-cycle in order to identify, analyze and present relevant insights that drive business decisions and anticipate opportunities to achieve a competitive advantage. This function manages analytic data platforms, the access, design and implementation of reporting/business intelligence solutions, and the application of advanced quantitative modeling.

Data Engineering ensures raw data is usable and accessible for the organization. Data Engineering encompasses numerous specialties of data acquisition, integration, and provisioning.

Responsibilities

The primary role of the Data Engineer is to support and expand the Data & Analytics platforms that process, store, organize the data critical for the data and analytics team. This role will drive the technical execution and maintenance to provide trusted, stable, reliable, responsive, and secure solutions and proactively inform business partners on D&A platform and product health, and problem resolution. This role will have expertise in data movement and database technologies support data analytics capabilities and incorporate broad knowledge of AI/ML algorithms, development, and applications.  This person will work collaboratively with Shared Services, Cloud teams, offshore developers, and business users to solve business problems and deliver solutions. 

  • Participate and contribute to technical platform strategy as tools, products, and business needs evolve.  Define and execute database and data movement standards, design reviews, database implementation.
  • Analyzing, re-architecting and re-platforming legacy or enterprise database objects to GCP BigQuery
  • Experience with development and development environments, including, but not limited to Jupyter, Google Colab notebooks, Matplotlib, Plotly, and geoplotlib.
  • Define how our data analytics capabilities will apply to business needs and result in dependable business solutions 
  • Ensure technical specifications are aligned with both business needs and technical design standards. 
  • Generate ideas and suggestions for process and technical improvements for platforms and processes supported by the team.
  • Ensure platforms and tools meet or exceed data security standards, including internal and external audits performed 
  • Willingness to become a techno-functional expert in the solutions being implemented. Use strong verbal and written communication skills that non-technical business and end users can understand. 
  • Develop best practices for solution and tool frameworks, leveraging standard naming conventions, scripting, and coding practices to ensure consistency of data solution. 


Qualifications

  • 4-8 years of experience, preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferrer
  • Proven experience with data analysis, re-architecting and re-platforming legacy or enterprise database objects to GCP BigQuery.  Other platforms (AWS Redshift, Oracle, MS SQL) are acceptable but must have a base understanding of GCP. 
  • Experience in handling day to day business operations.
  • Adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
  • Experience with CDC data movement technologies preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise of database design and modeling.
  • Expert knowledge of BI Reporting like Tableau, Business Objects, Alteryx, Discovery, AtScale and/or LookML tools, etc.
  • Experience creating stored procs (PL/SQLs).
  • Good experience with SQLs / tuning / cost management.
  • Experience with programming languages like Python / Shell scripting, etc.
  • Experience with business-critical applications.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial implications of projects.
  • Experience with SAP or integrating to SAP is preferred.
  • Apply programming and automation to existing operations to drive value.

Anticipated salary range: $93,500 - $133,600k
