What Transportation contributes to Cardinal Health
Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.
Transportation is responsible for the movement of materials and products between suppliers, manufacturing, warehousing and the customer. Management of transportation assets and systems to gain greater service, cost efficiency and optimization of processes.
Job Summary
The Transportation Analyst is accountable for the management of all inbound freight and outbound exports invoice verification and approval. Also does daily troubleshooting of inbound movements with direct contact with the transportation carriers. This job is responsible for the timely communication of all carrier and transportation updates to the Operations teams. This job provides analytical support for all Transportation management functions to ensure cost control, service levels, information flow, as well as enforce compliance. The Transportation Analyst assists with the development of transportation initiatives as an integral part of the Operations team.
Responsibilities:
- Process imports and exports.
- Maintain department documentation in compliance with regulatory agencies (CBP and FDA).
- Create transactions in ERP.
- Coordinate and troubleshot with carriers, to ensure on time delivery of all shipments.
- Interact with vendors located in US and any part of the globe from which we bring products.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience is required
- A minimum of 2 years experience in related field preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel intermediate knowledge is required
- Excellent customer service and analytical Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in Foreign Trade Zone Management is preferred
- Fully bilingual in English and Spanish verbal and written is required
