What Category Management contributes to Cardinal Health
This team is responsible for assessing customer needs, market conditions and competition to inform business strategy. Marketing implements the strategy through developing, commercializing and monitoring the appropriate products and services.
The team collaborates cross functionally to deliver sales, profitability and inventory productivity goals by capitalizing on market trends and reimbursement changes. Manages and optimizes supplier relationships and product portfolio to drive financial results, increase market share and exceed customer expectations.
Job Summary
The Sr Analyst supports portfolio management operations for all at-Home Solutions product categories. Work includes; price change analysis, new item setups, item maintenance, supplier change workflow, coordination between portfolio management and marketing team, and supports maintenance of contracts in the contracting software. The role reports to a Manager of Portfolio Operations who oversees operational process improvement for all at-Home & Edgepark categories. The analyst is a support function to the portfolio management team.
Responsibilities:
Identifies risk and opportunity via financial analysis of cost change impact
Collaborates with cross functional stakeholders including Pricing, Marketing, Legal, Quality, Regulatory, Planning, Inventory Management, Finance, Sales and Operations to gain internal alignment and gathers information necessary to execute supplier changes
Supports PDM team with new item setup across various platforms
Supports item maintenance including updating images and correcting item defects
Supports PDM workflows including item discontinuations and UOM changes
Coordinates with Marketing team on item transitions, new launches, product disruptions, discontinues and more
Supports efforts to audit, correct and maintain accurate supplier contract data across the portfolio management team via contract software
Seeks guidance as necessary from more experienced Manager, Portfolio management within same products division
Qualifications:
2-4 years of experience, preferred
Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
Experience with Oracle systems is preferred
Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills
