What the Meetings, Events and Trade Shows/Congress team contributes to Cardinal Health

The Global Meetings, Events and Trade Shows/Congress team is responsible for the development, planning and implementation of internal and external meetings, events and congresses aligned with strategic business and brand objectives.

You will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Serve as the lead Meeting Planner for all LATAM region meetings and events.

  • May serve as back-up support for our Senior Congress Planner.

  • Meeting planning responsibilities include: lead planning calls with various internal stakeholders; Cvent registration site build; attendee management; transportation and other external vendor management; hotel logistics (rooming lists, food & beverage, AV coordination); budget management; manage timeline/deadlines; reporting/data management; onsite management, billing reconciliation/payment.

  • Building and maintaining internal stakeholder relationships.

  • Providing industry best practice recommendations to clients.

  • Building and maintaining internal client relationships.

  • Conducting post program follow up to review learnings.

  • May contribute to the development of policies and procedures.

  • Completes work independently receives general guidance on new projects.

  • May act as a mentor to less experienced colleagues.

Qualifications (requirements)

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, event management, related field strongly preferred or equivalent work experience.

  • 5+ years of work experience in meeting planning/event management; preferably corporate event planning in healthcare.

  • Languages: Advance fluency in Spanish and English is required. Brazilian Portuguese is a plus. Excellent proofreading skills in English and Spanish.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Cvent Event software.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication with both internal and external audiences.

  • Strong interpersonal/customer service skills for communication with internal staff and participants from diverse backgrounds, including high-profile external participants.

  • Strong collaboration, networking, and influencing skills.

  • Excellent time management and proactive organizational skills, time management and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Analytical skills and the ability to think strategically.

  • Budget management experience.

  • Vendor management experience.

  • Ability to travel approximately 30%, including overnight travel, primarily in the LATAM region.

  • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) preferred.
