Clinical Care Delivery provides high quality, patient-centered care focused on diagnosing, treating and managing care while ensuring the safety, efficiency and effectiveness of the practice.

The Medical Assistant supports nursing and physician staff in providing for the needs, comfort and care of patients.

Responsibilities

  • Rooms patients and accurately collects and records patients’ medical history; including vital statistics, allergies, medications and concerns.  

  • Prepares treatment room, stocks and maintains supplies and equipment, keeping the rooms neat and clean.  

  • Prepares procedural area and assists with treatments including bone marrow biopsy specific to the provider’s direction.  

  • Assists with scheduling routine appointments and check out procedures.  

  • Prepares bone marrow specific to the physician’s direction, and anticipates needs of the provider, and other providers.  

  • Addresses patients with a compassionate, friendly and caring attitude.  

  • Consistently maintains and updates medication knowledge, staying current with industry trends and standards, attends in-services internal or external.  

  • Prepares and administers medications as directed by provider and in accordance with cCARE policies and procedures.  

  • Requests insurance authorizations and schedule appointments for STAT procedures including but not limited to blood transfusion, paracentesis, thoracentesis and brain MRIs.  

  • Documents receipt, assists with ensures completion of disability and other miscellaneous forms/ letters in a timely manner 

  • Effectively assists with E-Prescribing, authorizing drug refills and physician and Physician Dispensing.  

  • Triages phone calls and routes and relays information in a timely manner to staff and providers in a timely manner 

  • Daily review and processing of voicemails, reminders, and emails.  

  • Coordinate with administrative medical assistant 

  • Effectively performs other duties as assigned. Collect blood or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare and/or analyze them for testing.  

  • Orders labs, prepare requisitions and transcribe when appropriate 

  • Set up medical laboratory equipment. Operates electrocardiogram (EKG), or other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests.  

  • This position may require that the M.A. occasionally travel to other Clinical sites upon request 

Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited education institution 

  • Current CPR certification required  

  • 0-2 years of Medical Assistant experience

Anticipated hourly range: $21.00 per hour - $25.30 per hour
