What Mechanical Engineering contributes to Cardinal Health

Engineering is responsible for performing research and analyses to develop design options for components, products, systems and processes. Project Engineer acts as the technical lead and coordinator for engineering projects, bridging the gap between design, construction, and management. They are responsible for project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and project manages large engineering projects

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost estimates

  • Applies working knowledge in the application of concepts, principles and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks

  • Leads and coordinates work teams in the decision making within high complexity situations.

  • Identifies possible solutions to a variety of technical problems and takes action to resolve to achieve the company's KPI's

  • Acts as a point of contact in representation of Manufacturing Engineering in projects with R&D, Marketing, Design, Quality, Operations, Maintenance, EHS, and other departments

  • Coordinates and executes Controlled Documents updates (SOPs, Visual Aids etc)

  • Responsible for equipment validation

  • Acts as a role model and mentor to other team members

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (completed) in Engineering (Industrial, mechanical, electronic or related field)

  • 2 - 4 yrs experience in medical device manufacturing project coordination

  • English: Advance or fluent

  • Solid proficiency in Minitab, Word, Excel

  • Medical Devices Process Validation (Writing and Execution of Protocols IQ, OQ, PQ, TMV)

  • Knowledge of ISO13485 principles and concepts

  • Understanding and application of Manufacturing Process Statistical Tools (Data measurement, data comparison, validation reports)

  • Understanding of BOM creations/updates

  • Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing

  • Experience in controlled documentation updates (SOPs, Visual Aids etc)

  • Experience in CAPA(s) as owner/team member, advanced knowledge in application of root cause analysis tools

  • Experience in project management from planning to implementation of manufacturing processes (Documentation and execution of product design and process changes)

  • Experience in Savings Projects: Product Costs Analysis, Process layout/configuration optimizations
