What Supply Chain Inventory and Purchasing contributes to Cardinal Health
Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.
The Supply Chain Inventory and Purchasing team is responsible for managing supplier relations at a tactical level by executing and expediting purchase orders. Supply Chain Inventory and Purchasing ensures the right quantity of products arrive in the right place, at the right time and cost. Assists in negotiating product and supply chain costs. Utilize terms and conditions of supplier contracts, work with internal customers to improve processes, and evaluate supplier performance that ultimately improves the supply chain.
Job Summary
As the Key Accounts Consultant, you will collaborate with numerous cross-functional stakeholders, including sales, key account, purchasing, finance, operations, sourcing and more, to build and deliver a customer focused plan that considers historical trends, seasonality, promotional activities, sales goals, and product transition plans, and monitoring service performance while balancing our financial targets. As we continuously have new technology launches, this role is also supporting new forecasting tools/reporting/dashboard development and scalable processes to drive cross-functional collaboration, improve forecast accuracy, and support long term sales strategies.
Location
This role will be a hybrid position; 1 day in-office per week at the Dublin, OH headquarters.
Responsibilities
- Day-to-day inventory management contact for our strategic key accounts customers, leading customer calls and presenting to External Customers in areas of service level, formulary compliance, inventory readiness, top shortages, proactive monitoring.
- Maintains contractual service level objectives through monitoring and appropriately reacting to daily service level issues.
- Work cross-functionally with different business partners to understand business growth strategy, market trend, customer demand trend changes, and reconcile significant forecast variances, refine forecasts to support customer demand and business growth.
- Analyzes new/changing customer usage and takes appropriate actions to plan for demand changes.
- Provide support with data analytics, root cause analysis, and problem resolution of inventory concerns or issues.
- Be a leader in driving process improvements and automation for demand planning tools to reduce manual data aggregation and increase visibility to the forecast analysis.
- Communicate ideas concisely to a wide variety of stakeholders for purposes ranging from informative to financial approval from executives.
- Ad-hoc analytics related to inventory Management by Objectives (MBOs).
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience, preferred
- 5+ years of experience in Inventory/end-to-end supply chain preferred
- 5+ years of experience working in data driven environment preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft excel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) a plus
- Must be a self-starter with strong strategic influence

Anticipated salary range: $67,500 - $96,300
