What Transportation contributes to Cardinal Health

Transportation is responsible for the movement of materials and products between suppliers, manufacturing, warehousing and the customer. Management of transportation assets and systems to gain greater service, cost efficiency and optimization of processes.

Qualifications / Skill Set 

  • Bachelor degree, or equivalent experience.  

  • 2-4 years experience in similar field 

  • US Geography knowledge 

  • Basic understanding of transportation terms and processes 

  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written) and customer focus 

  • Intermediate computer skills with proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint; strong internet navigation skills including transportation related web applications 

  • Ability to follow SOPs and attentive to details 

  • Must display a high level of organization skills and the ability to work independently 

  • Prior experience utilizing a Transportation Management System (TMS) or Courier Management System (CMS) desirable

  • Works on projects of limited scope and complexity 

  • Follows established procedures to resolve readily identifiable technical problems 

  • Works under direct supervision and receives detailed instructions

Job Responsibilities 

  • Responsible to prepare daily activity reports for specific customers and Same Day Programs to be reviewed internally by the Same Day Services Customer Support team at start of US first Shift (8am EST) and ultimately sent to customer 

  • Preparation of reports includes gathering activity data from courier management system, importing data into MS Excel, then updating and formatting data in customer-preferred manner as specified in work instructions. 

  • Currently, there are different reports that need to be prepared each day for eight (8) different delivery programs in US markets. 

  • Responsible for converting daily customer order text file to an Excel document that will be imported by the Same Day Solutions team at the start of US first shift, 8am EST 

  • The orders will be separated by market and converted to 3 individual text files to 8 Excel files to import for each market 

  • Responsibilities will expand to include other Same Day support functions as capacity allows including US after hour support for coordination with providers and customers, as well as other administrative functions 

  • POD Clean -Up_Transactions Per Hour 

  • Amenable to work in shifting schedule (Tuesdays-Saturdays, 11PM-8AM EST)
