Warehouse Worker (Rack Picker)

What Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health

Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product.

Rack Associates are responsible for the efficient flow of products and transportation of product picked to our external customers. This job function includes picking product from elevated rack locations. Also, packing, staging, and wrapping pallets for our internal customers. In addition, Rack Pickers are expected to know and demonstrate safe equipment and lifting techniques.

Pay

  • $15.75 starting rate (experienced based pay) + $.75 shift differential = minimum $16.50/hour

Shift

  • Sun - Thurs, 3pm start time (Sunday 10 am Start time)

Accountabilities

  • Picking and Packing
  • Detailed oriented
  • Sense of urgency
  • Equipment experience
  • Palletizing cartons to skid and wrapping for shipment
  • Using an RF scanner
  • Operate machinery such as forklifts, cherry pickers, walkie rider, and pallet jacks
  • Must be able to lift-up to-- 50 LBs
  • Must be comfortable with heights up to 30 ft.
  • Must be able to work overtime with no advance notice

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED preferred
  • Good written communication skills
  • 1-2 years’ experience
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a team -oriented environment with limited supervision
  • Proficient in Microsoft office preferred What is expected of you and others at this level
  • Applies acquired knowledge and skills to complete standard tasks
  • Readily learns and applies new information and methods to work in assigned area
  • Maintains appropriate licenses, training and certifications • Works on routine assignments that require some problem resolution
  • Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods
  • Adheres to all quality guidelines • Works under moderate degree of supervision
  • Work typically involves regular review of output by work lead or supervisor
  • Refers complex unusual problems to supervisor
