Supervisor, Operations Management (Night Shift)

Shift: Sunday - Thursday 6:00 PM - 2:30 AM (to task)

What Operations Management contributes to Cardinal Health

Operations Management is responsible for strategic oversight and leadership direction within the Operations function. 

Accountabilities in this role

The night manager role is primarily responsible for the efficient operation, delivering top quality service to customers, development and training of supervisors and warehouse employees, and ensuring maximum productivity for picking, packing, and shipping all customers’ orders within planned expense goals.

  • Maintain positive employee relations and have strong floor presence.
  • Proactively analyze problems and develop solutions.
  • Ensure productivity and quality standards are achieved or exceeded.
  • Implement and sustain operational excellence projects to improve the quality of service.
  • Manage development of two supervisors; oversee training and development of 60+ warehouse employees.
  • Ensure staffing levels are aligned with business strategies.
  • Meet deadlines and handle multiple competing priorities daily.
  • Oversee attendance records, paid time off calendar, corrective action processes, monthly performance reviews, training deadlines, payroll, hiring and compliance of security and housekeeping programs.
  • Model and ensure that the corporation's standards of business conduct, values, policies, procedures and programs are consistently practiced.
  • Responsible for providing a safe and secure, clean work environment; promoting a safety culture and supporting associated Environmental Health & Safety programs.
  • Responsible for Cardinal Health compliance and regulations concerning OSHA, WISHA, DEA, FDA, EPA, DOT, DOL and State and local authorities.
  • Manager schedule is Sunday-Thursday 6:00pm - 3:00am


  • College degree strongly preferred
  • 3 years’ manager and related experience
  • Lean Six Sigma experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong computer knowledge especially Excel and Word programs
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds safely
  • Willingness to cover emergency phone one weekend during rotation
