What Market Research contributes to Cardinal Health

Market Research is responsible for designing, developing, conducting, analyzing, and presenting market research initiatives to drive and support the strategic objectives of the business through review of market conditions, trends, competition, market share

  • Demonstrates knowledge of marketing strategies and how customized market research can inform such efforts.
  • Understands the various different customers the organization serves and how it impacts different segments uniquely.
  • Maintains strong research design skills and the ability to generate and test hypotheses.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of secondary and primary research methods and knows when and how to apply qualitative and quantitative efforts.

Accountabilities in this role

  • Leads the development of the Specialty Solutions market research and customer insights strategy and program
  • Creates an executional roadmap including timelines and ongoing frequency to ensure the necessary market insights are gained and updated regularly
  • Executes market research projects, including brand equity tracking, ongoing competitive landscape assessment, market segmentation, and ad hoc market research
  • Partners closely with other Cardinal Health teams (including Commercial Operations, Revenue Management, and Strategy) that may be gathering/analyzing insights to ensure the appropriate storage and dissemination of insights for application across the Specialty Solutions business
  • Collaborates with the Pharma Strategy team to develop and execute annual Voice of Customer surveys for Specialty Solutions
  • Defines budgetary requirements, tracks research expenses, and consistently seeks cost savings and efficiency opportunities
  • Develops strong working relationships with company-preferred market research firms
  • Closely oversees the accurate and on-time execution of primary and secondary market research efforts by third-party firms and agencies
  • Works closely with the Indirect Procurement team to establish Master Services Agreements (MSAs) and Statements of Work (SOWs), and to evaluate external research firms when needed
  • May personally execute smaller scale market research studies and pulse surveys
  • Collaborates effectively with others and builds strategic alliances within Specialty Solutions and across Cardinal Health

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Marketing, Market Research, Analytics or related field
  • MBA
  • 8+ years of experience in market research related field
  • Experience in the healthcare industry is ideal
  • Demonstrates knowledge of marketing strategies and how customized market research can inform such efforts
  • Understands the various different customers the organization serves and how the organization impacts different segments uniquely.
  • Maintains strong research design skills and the ability to generate and test hypotheses.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of secondary and primary research methods and knows when and how to apply qualitative and quantitative efforts.
  • Leverages strong project management skills.

  • Adept at handling multiple complex projects and requests simultaneously; detail-oriented with excellent follow-up, budgeting, organization and time management skills.
  • Ability/willingness to travel 5-10% (domestic travel only)
