This role will support Delicia’s Negative Wound Pressure Therapy business and future oversight of Juarez’s Presource Kitting business.  Travel to both locations is required.

What a Sustaining Product Engineer contributes to Cardinal Health
Sustaining Engineering involves the identification, review, assessment, and resolution of deficiencies throughout a product’s life cycle. It includes the measurement, identification and verification of system technical and supportability deficiencies, associated root cause analyses, evaluation of the potential for deficiency correction and the development of a range of corrective action options.

Accountabilities

  • Improve Reliability through replacement high failure-rate parts and/or improve electrical / mechanical design to correct original design flaws.
  • Implement selected corrective actions to include configuration or maintenance processes and the monitoring of key sustainment metrics.
  • Analyses circuit boards, connectors, or other circuits for improve reliability performance
  • Source and implement technologies resulting in reduce cost of older systems. 
  • Electrically or Mechanically – re-architect systems using the latest technologies to enable significant cost savings that were not realized in the original design.
  • Propose designs, and processes utilized to take advantage of changes in technology that drive higher performance and/or reduced power and material overconsumption.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve product quality through proactive sourcing of components and related costs.
  • Responsible for ensuring quality line production fluidity and sustainability.
  • Document product engineering changes and interact with other functional areas to capture design/product inputs.
  • Complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electromechanical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience is highly desired.
  • 4+ years related work experience
  • Ability to train and coach others from technical expertise
  • Advance proficiency in English and Spanish
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, root cause analysis
  • Solid knowledge of statistical data analysis
  • Lean Six Sigma / Continuous improvement Kaizen, Black Belt, or similar qualifications
