Business & Administrative Support is responsible for assisting general business operations by providing an array of administrative and data support activities.

The Medical Administration and Data job family supports the effective operation of a healthcare organization by managing administrative tasks, patient data, and medical records. This job family ensures the flow of information, maintaining patient confidentiality and supports clinical staff.

Responsibilities

  • Assigned to work with physician/allied health provider (“provider”).

  • Accompany the provider upon patient interview and examination and document the dictated patient history, including history of present illness, review of systems, past medical and surgical histories, family and social histories, medications and allergies.

  • Document physical examination findings and procedures as performed by the provider.

  • Document the results of laboratory and radiographic studies as dictated by the provider and document the correct time of patient care related activities, including provider to provider communication, family communication and re-examinations of the patient.

  • The provider and the Scribe will make “chart rounds” to review patient status, delays, and any other care-related issues.


Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of experience, preferred

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience, preferred

  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, diagnostic procedures, pharmacology, and treatment assessments to the extent required to understand accurately transcribe dictated reports.

  • Demonstrated ability to write routine medical reports and correspondence.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (including overtime, and weekends, as necessary.

  • Functional understanding of electronic medical record software and transcription software.

  • Works on basic and routine assignments

  • Selects correct processes from prescribed rules or guidelines

  • Work is closely managed and follows detailed instructions

  • Seeks regular guidance and advice from supervisor

Anticipated hourly range: $21.00 per hour - $23.43 per hour
