What Materials Management contributes to Cardinal Health

Materials Management is responsible for the management of material inventory levels to ensure that raw material components and manufactured products are available when needed to satisfy the plant and customer requirements. Responsibilities include the planning and procurement of material components to minimize obsolescence and overstock situations while achieving maximum customer service levels

Job Summary

Responsible for installing support equipment in a routine fashion so the equipment performs as required, along with materials movement; following department’s standard operating procedures.  Must work as a team member.


  • Install under machine grinders and un-jam them as required.
  • Overhead crane training required.
  • Install parts separators, Air Veyors and elevators, hopper loaders and concentrate feeders as required.
  • Fill concentrate feeders.
  • Repair and adjust material handling system.
  • Install shields on molding machines to eliminate molded parts from falling on the floor.
  • Check and adjust, if necessary, parts scales after mold changes.
  • Required to perform material blending duties as required by Supervisor.
  • Maintain certification to operate powered lift as required by job duties.
  • Perform cleaning duties in the department.
  • Observe department’s safety regulations and use personal protective equipment as required.
  • Practice Good Manufacturing and Housekeeping Procedures and complete cleaning verification checklists as required.
  • Adhere to plant/Corporate policies/procedures, department safety and environmental regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and ISO 13485 Standards.
  • Report any unusual circumstances to immediate supervisor and performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned.


  • Good written communication skills
  • 1-2 years experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft office preferred
