Manufacturing Custodian

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Shift: 6:30am - 3pm + OT

What Production Set-up & Maint contributes to Cardinal Health

Sets up, aligns, monitors, and/or calibrates production equipment. Assists and may perform maintenance on machines and cleans up minor chemical spills in assigned area as well as glassware, ovens, and other equipment.

Accountabilities

  • Clean designated areas of plant as required, i.e. (restrooms, cafeterias, main isles, offices, smoking areas, etc.) with approved disinfectants and cleaning supplies.   Sweep, mop and vacuum on daily basis.   Empty and remove trash and restock supplies.
  • Wax and/or buff floors using powered rotary equipment.
  •  Strip and wax office areas per PM schedule.
  • Perform assigned PM’s by the required due date.
  • Remove and dump trash into designated containers or trash compactor system.  Dump all outside garbage and scrap metal hoppers as required.
  • Use a variety of mops, brooms, cleaning supplies, solutions, carts, ladders, power vacuum, and cleaning equipment.
  • Responsible to observe department’s safety regulations and to use personnel protective equipment as required.
  • Responsible to adhere to plant policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices [GMP’S], ISO 9002 regulations and good housekeeping procedures. 
  • Report any unusual circumstances to immediate supervisor and perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  • Must maintain a good attendance record.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED Preferred
  • 1 year experience in housekeeping or manufacturing related position preferred
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
