Maintenance Supervisor

Job Summary:

  • Provide leadership and direction to maintenance and technical personnel responsible for providing maintenance services to plant customers, in order to maintain manufacturing equipment through preventive and predictive maintenance methods. 
  • Responsible for engaging subordinates in safety programs. 
  • Responsible for developing and coordinating all mechanical and electrical aspects of improving equipment reliability (OEE).

Essential Functions:

  • Supervises plant technical support group. 
  • Develops and maintain preventive maintenance schedules and procedures for manufacturing equipment utilizing CMMS.
  • Administers condition-based analysis programs, such as vibration and oil analysis programs. Coordinates plant shutdown maintenance activities.
  • Administers contractor entry training & documentation
  • Maintains plant environment to meet manufacturing requirements.
  • Complies with plant operational permit requirements.
  • Maintains time/attendance records for technical associates.
  • Schedules work order and safety action request system
  • Uses knowledge and understanding of reliability centered maintenance practices, and sound engineering practices and principles, to improve the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) of the plant’s mechanical and electrical equipment, to achieve budgeted performance expectations. Uses logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions, conclusions, and approaches to solving equipment problems. 
  • Must have strong analytical problem solving skills. 
  • Coordinates the design and delivery of technical training.
  • Works closely with the Production Supervisors to coordinate maintenance events to include resource planning, change overs, preventative maintenance and project scheduling.
  • Must possess a disciplined approach to standards and procedures required to facilitate and implement improvements.  Customer focused to provide quality service and improve equipment and process reliability
  • Must be able to identify, plan, and implement process improvements quickly and efficiently.


  • Safety First: Observe all safety precautions and regulations always in all areas where duties are performed.
  • Responsible for correcting and/or reporting all safety hazards and potential unsafe working conditions.
  • Must understand and comply with all current plant policies and procedures.
  • Serve as TPM Coordinator for manufacturing maintenance teams.
  • Supervise the technical associates performing maintenance of Carding, Opening, Drawing,
  • O/E Spinning, Warping and Weave room
  • Assure maintenance is performed as assigned by Maximo.
  • Ensure Maintenance records are filled out completely as maintenance is completed
  • Participate in Plant Corrective Action Program.
  • Participate in the weekly production plan.
  • Assist in other areas as needed.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Able to train technicians in new procedures.
  • Communicate potential project ideas to technicians or engineering department personnel in the areas of safety, equipment improvements, and process improvements.
  • Utilize Project Management skills and techniques.
  • Utilize problem solving and decision analysis skills.


  • Minimum 2-year technical degree required.  4-year engineering degree preferred. 
  • 4-10 years of related industrial maintenance experience, with two years minimum experience of direct supervision of technical personnel. 
  • 2-years minimum experience in reliability-centered maintenance management. 
  • Prior training in TPM or similar disciplined maintenance methods is desirable. 
  • Must have good knowledge of plant utilities and systems. 
  • Good written and oral communication skills. 
  • Project management and follow up.
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Access software preferred. 
  • Working experience with Maximo, SAP, or other maintenance management software preferred.
