Position Summary

Cardinal Health Healthcare Analytics and Marketing Communications, a division of Cardinal Health Specialty Solutions, delivers comprehensive consulting, medical marketing and communications and data analytical services to a robust portfolio of specialty pharmaceutical manufacturers and biotechnology companies.

Business Development within Cardinal Health Specialty Solutions drives sales of analytics, data platforms and specialty services that turn big data into insights to new and/or existing c-level executive pharmaceutical customers through face-to-face meetings or telephone contact. In addition, the team has responsibility to articulate clinical analytical insight with a strong focus in specialty pharmaceutical drugs and have autonomy when representing Cardinal’s services to a variety of client needs.

Position Accountabilities

  • Sell and consult with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device and molecular testing companies who have products focused in Rheumatology
  • Identify, qualify and develop new opportunities for introducing solutions through collaborative relationships
  • Build, with little or no oversight, a Rheumatology marketing practice; partner with Cardinal’s geotargeting team to promote specific products or services
  • Partner with subject matter experts and rheumatology clinicians to drive company revenue and client-centric, customized projects
  • Ability to effectively define and sell a fee for service value proposition
  • Interact with senior leadership in Marketing, Managed Markets, Market Access, Medical Affairs, HEOR, Data Analytics, and other areas within organizations
  • Work cross-functionally with matrix partners to execute proposals and drive contracts to finalization
  • Apply knowledge of the customer's business to develop optimal solutions
  • Proactively and with a regular cadence demonstrate the defined value of partnering with Cardinal Health both pre- and post-sales
  • Effectively negotiate, collaborate and achieve consensus with customers and colleagues to influence support for mutually beneficial outcomes
  • Build and sustain relationships founded on trust with internal and external customers while ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty
  • Increase nationwide account penetration, revenue growth and customer satisfaction within the Rheumatology market

Position Qualifications

  • 10 years experience in marketing and fee for service sales in Rheumatology
  • General and clinical understand of the Rheumatology market and products
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or commiserate experience; graduate degree preferred
  • Excellent planning, forecasting, financial and negotiation skills
  • Proven ability to design win-win strategies for Cardinal Health and the client base
  • Self-starter; able to determine, independently, solutions that ensure business objectives are achieved within acceptable tolerances
  • Demonstrated matrix management skills; ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Executive presence and solid presentation and communication capabilities
  • Ability to travel 50+ percent
