What Operations Maintenance contributes to Cardinal Health
Maintenance is responsible for designing, developing and testing a wide variety of equipment and packaging used for protection, display and handling of products. Determines packaging specifications, cost limitations, legal requirements and related documentation. Directs external resources / contractors as required.
Applies Good Manufacturing Principles in all areas of responsibility, and ensures compliance for all Operations Associates.
Perform routine maintenance, setups, changeovers, repairs, and troubleshooting of packaging machines. Schedule preventive maintenance activities.
Document the execution of maintenance and manufacturing functions. Individuals are expected to be an active participant in their assigned processes by maintaining, repairing, and initiating process improvements.
Collaborate with all maintenance personnel, operators and supervisors to develop and enlarge technical skill base and understanding of assigned areas.
Schedule the workload for assigned shift. Coordinate the handoffs between shifts to ensure a smooth transition.
Be able to support cost savings and new product installation projects and teams.
Maintenance of good housekeeping cGMP and safety practices.
Define root cause and provide timely execution of corrective actions on exception events that are related to equipment maintenance and repair.
Other duties as assigned.

High School Diploma or GED preferred.
1-2 years of related experience.
Must possess strong computer and troubleshooting skills as well as solid reading, writing, math and skills.
Must have strong written and verbal English communication skills to effectively communicate with internal staff, management, Customers, and suppliers.
Must be open-minded, decisive, and flexible.
Must have extensive knowledge of packaging processes and equipment.
Must possess excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
Must be very well organized, detail oriented and possess ability to multi-task.
Must have ability to plan to ensure timely completion and follow up on assigned tasks.
Must be motivated to strive for continuous improvement.
Must be familiar with cGMP, and safe practices.
Be proactive and willing to take initiative and responsibility.
Strong technical skills including electrical, mechanical, hydraulics and pneumatics.
Experience working with a maintenance work order system is desirable.
Experience working with Allen-Bradley and other types of PLCs is desirable.
Previous experience working with packaging and other equipment such as (but not limited to); HVAC, compressors, bottle fillers, cappers, labelers and conveying systems, thermoformers, cartoners, vision inspection systems, inkjet and laser printing systems.
Must have ability to adapt quickly, work under pressure, and prioritize workload in a fast paced and constantly changing environment.
Must have a high level of personal integrity.
Must maintain a strong Customer Service focus at all times.

I have been trained to load on the spurs, pick and handle floor stock. I have also run the command station and served as the 3rd shift warehouse lead. I hope that my being able to do almost any position in the warehouse
can take some of the load off of someone else and make a difference for Cardinal Health members.
