Job Title: Technical Business Analyst, Platform Services

The Technical Business Analyst (“TBA”) will provide a strong link between EIT Shared Services clients and Platform Services teams to identify and understand business requirements, conduct impact assessments and recommend solutions that meet the business requirements from an IT systems perspective. The Technical Business Analyst will work independently to develop functional and technical specifications, work with Platform Services leads to interpret specifications and ensure process and standards for development are followed and create test cases. Relying on technical expertise and communication skills, the TBA owns all technical scoping aspects of the projects including educating business customers on the solutions to address the business requirements. The TBA will work hand-in-hand with IT, Product Management and other technology units to maintain a strategic relationship with the customers through the software development life cycle and future opportunities.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the liaison between EIT Shared Services clients and the Platform Services teams.
  • Define business and technical requirements.
  • Develop functional specification specifications; review and approve technical specifications, design, and systems development to ensure requirements are met.
  • Analyze data requirements and interfaces of the existing application.
  • Create and/or audit high level functional design.
  • Effectively communicate status, changes, and issues to the relevant parties and stakeholders.
  • Provide support to Project Managers to ensure projects meet required timelines and deliverables.
  • Any additional duties as assigned by Management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate to all project members and stakeholders.
  • Working experience in business and technical requirement gathering and documentation.
  • Ability to collaborate with business and technology stakeholders in gathering requirements.
  • Ability to develop technical functional requirements.
  • Experience working with HP Quality Center or ALM is a plus.
  • Working experience in creating requirement matrix and applying QA best practices to all testing phases.
  • Understand and have working experience in all phases of SDLC.
  • Experience with at least one of the following:

Data modeling/data mapping highly preferred

SQL and Oracle databases; able to query and effectively analyze data

Web based application such as Java or J2EE

  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools and concepts is a plus.
  • Must be a team player who works well with technical and non-technical resources.
  • Must be able to own and see tasks through to completion without significant guidance

Qualifications.

  • Bachelors Degree in related field or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years experience in related field preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products preferred
