Fuse by Cardinal Health is seeking a Tech Lead to join our Core Platforms and Data/Messaging team in Dublin, OH:

Department Overview

The Fuse Commercial Technologies Core Platforms and Data/Messaging team supports multiple business units and commercial platforms within Cardinal Health. We focus on supplying a self-service platform as a service for the multiple products hosted within FUSE.

Our department works directly with development teams to host our commercial applications, automate deployments of their applications, and support their needs to meet business objectives. Our goal is to provide a common platform that can be leveraged across multiple commercial software applications.

Track/Level Expectations: Tech Lead (individual contributor)

The Core Platforms and Data/Messaging Technology Lead (TL) is responsible for anticipating, planning and the deliver IT solutions and strategies which enable business value and satisfy the needs of our clients. The TL is also expected to:

  • Have market understanding of potential new areas, opportunities, or growth
  • Be driven and self-motivated to learn new technologies relevant to supporting products
  • Drive accountability across other team members to execute on time, drive consistency with the team, and ensure disciplined execution of desired outcomes
  • Drive accountability with vendors to supply data required for actionable outcomes
  • Set the technical standards and patterns for the team to follow
  • Serve as a servant leader allowing team members to contribute ideas, while providing the guiding architectural decisions of the team
  • Coach the team on engineering practices – CI/CD, Pairing, Testing Practices, etc.
  • Assist product owners with technology roadmaps
  • Provide technical leadership that is driving the design or technical deliverables of the team
  • Maintain product subject matter expertise
  • Understand and help manage technical issues across team
  • Lead conversations with either customer, vendor, peer teams, architecture, etc.
  • Communicate to larger audience (Sales team, Management, etc.) when in-depth technical expertise is important
  • Lead technical discussions to design completion
  • Work with dev manager on process flows that impact the larger team as it crosses boundaries
  • Provide architectural guidance and direction to lead the designs of the team
  • Be responsible for the testing and automation practices of the team
  • Able to have product discussions with upper management on technical direction of the team
  • Manage the technical debt backlog and help team members identify and create tech debt backlog items
  • Help product owner prioritize the technical debt of the back log
  • Responsible for technical configuration, design, administration, development, implementation and support of application and information frameworks that Commercial Technology products utilize.
  • Leverage fluency in technical languages, operating systems, application programming interfaces, and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of Agile development techniques
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of infrastructure subcomponents and interoperability including (but not limited to) data stores, network (application routing), PaaS and compute platforms.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in system information dependencies and end to end application transaction competency.
  • Maintain platform or system health and availability requirements including HA\DR testing.
  • Resolve support issues involving production systems.
  • Monitor and manage proactive maintenance to application platform environments; manage SOPs for software and information platform systems.
  • Interface with software engineering teams and partners on operational platform events as well as solution design needs
  • Driving root cause for production related issues
  • Apply advanced knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to manage a wide variety of tasks and projects
  • Leads and participates in the development of policies and procedures
  • Work on or leads complex projects of large scope
  • Develop technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are innovative and consistent with organization objectives
  • Acts as a mentor to less experienced colleagues

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's in related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 6+ years’ experience in related field with 2+ years in a technical leadership capacity
  • Deep competency in multiple Software/Info platform technology domains: Ubuntu Linux, AWS, CHEF, Ruby, Jenkins.
