Marketing is responsible for assessing customer needs, market conditions and competition to inform business strategy. Marketing implements the strategy through developing, commercializing and monitoring the appropriate products and services. -- Product or Services Marketing is responsible for defining the product/service and market strategy and life cycle management including customer need identification, market research, product or service offering, pricing, positioning, promotion, branding and distribution to drive customer loyalty, sales growth and improved profitability.

Accountabilities:

  • The marketing communications specialist helps serve as the "voice of the organization" to the outside world, advancing the business’ interests and presenting it in the best possible light.
  • The specialist with will help support the creation of communications programs that effectively describe and promote the organization and its products including graphics, brochures, company or product fact sheets, logos, or other promotional products
  • Write, edit and proofread copy for advertising, website, brochures, email campaigns, social media, and other copy both independently and in collaboration with senior leadership, marketing team members and other internal staff
  • Working collaboratively with the various business functions to help monitor, analyze and track communications plans, content production and overall program effectiveness
  • Support activities related to posting content via Major Pharmaceuticals website
    • Regularly monitor content and make needed changes to support new product launches and various programs and services
    • Develop social media utilization strategy (LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.)
  • Supports Major Pharmaceuticals in convention management initiatives
    • Owns the onsite convention management planning and logistics process
    • Development of lead generation and follow up/tracking tools
    • Assist with copy, messaging, and positioning statements for conferences and events
    • Work with various team members on the development of sponsorship advertisements, targeted messaging, customer engagement activities and relevant promotional material distribution and management
  • Work with Graphic Designer to aid in development of marketing concepts and translate them into easy-to-understand, powerful visual presentations for all distribution channels.
    • Research and recommend images that align with developed content from stock photography sources.
    • Assist graphic designer with designing and developing templates for web, email and other channels
    • Support graphic designer to incorporate graphics into materials and re-size images.
  • Perform quarterly audit of all communications and collaborate with team members to revise as needed
  • Ensure that internal and external communications are consistent with Major’s brand and value proposition messaging guidelines.
  • Organize and maintain all content for print and online materials.
  • Acts as liaison between Cardinal Business Communications, Creative Services and other departments

Other Requirements:

  • Exhibits an ability to translate market and customer needs into clearly defined goals, objectives, strategies, and tactics to drive sales & profitability for the business. Accountable for gaining and driving cross functional support from all stakeholders (R&D, finance, sales, etc.) involved in the management of the portfolio.
  • Identifies and remains current on market trends. Determines product/service lifecycle implications and makes recommendations to maintain market competitiveness and to achieve sustainable economic success.
  • Understands methods available to execute primary research (VOC) that are necessary to drive portfolio/ product decisions. Can identify market opportunities through VOC/secondary research and takes action by implementing and managing solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of marketing disciplines and concepts necessary for building a business & marketing plan; this includes identifying the appropriate channels to market. Has the ability to understand market trends and competitive positioning and can establish and/or adjust the product/service offering. (pricing, etc.).
  • Demonstrates strong financial acumen and logical decision making in the general business environment. Understands and can demonstrate sound thought processes as it relates to pricing, deal structure and assessing financial implications.
  • Works effectively across cross functional groups including but not limited to IT, communications, operations, and sales.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years experience in related field
