The Senior Software Engineer role will drive the IT strategy and execution of Procurement for the multi-billion-dollar Global Supply Chain. The Global Supply Chain Team is focused on creating/leveraging innovative technology to support Cardinal Health’s new global supply chain and manufacturing and will also be responsible for setting up new technology and new systems to support the growing business.
Responsibilities for leading supplier collaboration, tight integration with Planning/Inventory Management and Global Trade
Leading a validated Quality process into Procurement for Class II and III medical devices, enabling local procurement within non-US countries (accommodating language and local requirements).
Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in the Procurement area
Manage and own projects from design through deployment
Build a strong working relationship with the IT run team and business end-users.
Fully understand technical capabilities of tools as well as needs of users and business processes
Gather requirements of end-user community for enhancements and work with team members to develop standard, harmonized requirements
Manage issues, document, escalate as appropriate and ensure resolution
Partner with Project Management to ensure on-time delivery
Develop and deliver training to key-users and end-users as required
Document application solutions
Manage and publish training plan and coordinate with peers and with end-users
Coordinate UAT, data validation and planner data input with key-users during system deployments
Participate as appropriate for enhancement testing
Anticipate future needs of end-users and initiate activities to close gaps before issues arise
Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, related field preferred or equivalent experience.
8+ years experience in related field preferred
Working knowledge of three or more technologies preferred
5 years’ experience in Procurement and Supply Chain required.
SAP S/4 or ECC experience preferred
Proven leadership ability preferred
Experience with SAP S/4 HANA, IBP, SNC, Fiori and/or Ariba.
Hands on experience with procurement and supply chain processes and procedures
Ability to gather requirements of end-user community for enhancements and work with team members to develop standard, harmonized requirements
Must have strong communication skills both verbally and written

Demonstrates knowledge of software development, life cycle, modeling of business processes, application design patterns, business/functional documents. Estimates to high level business requirements and provide options analysis.
