A Senior ETL Engineer/Data Wrangler is a full-stack developer that is proficient at working at all layers of an application. They work in an Agile development environment as a hands-on developer delivering technology solutions to transform healthcare into a safer and more cost-effective industry.
Skills & Requirements - Layers of Full Stack:
Proficiency in at least one of the scripting languages: Perl, Python or others (ideally in the context of data processing or data science) .
Perform data discoveries to understand data formats, source systems, file sizes, etc. This will include engaging with internal and external business partners in the discovery process.
Experience with ETL and/or other Big Data processes.
Experience with a variety of data modeling practices for OLTP and OLAP.
Expert level proficiency in SQL.
Ability to perform complex data analysis with large volumes of data, ideally with MSSQL or PostgreSQL and batch loading processes.
Understanding Server, Network, and Hosting Environments.
Some Web or RESTful API experience preferred.
Manage and monitor large-scale ETL processes for patient/pharmacy related data.
Delivers data acquisition, transformations, cleansing, conversion, compression, and loading of data into a variety of data models.
Build and enhance the ETL codebase for added efficiency and capacity.
Work on normalization and performance tuning analytics processes.
Monitor key infrastructure components such as databases, SFTP servers, and other parts of the stack.
You love to be involved in all stages of product design and development, from development of the MVP thru architecting and building a scalable production system.
You have a passion and proven track record for creating robust, scalable applications.
You love working on fast paced, high performing teams, collaborating with team members and improving our ability to deliver.
You are motivated by solving challenging technical problems, and get excited at the thought of no legacy code.
You are able to co-locate with the development team.
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, a good work ethic and sense of humor.
5+ years of engineering experience in a professional environment. Skill fit is weighed as a higher priority than simple work experience.
Proficiency in multiple programming languages.
Python, MSSQL, and Hadoop experience highly preferred.
Comfortable working with open-source technologies.
Experience with RESTful web services a plus.
Experience with some form of web development is a plus.
