Department Description Overview:

The mission of the Marketing and Business Development Group (MBDG) is to drive value and growth for our pharmaceutical clients. Through collaboration and strategic agility we provide multi-channel and end-to-end solutions that result in success for our clients, customers and Cardinal Health.

This team sells a variety of marketing programs and services to pharmaceutical manufacturers which drive revenue and differentiate Cardinal Health from its competition. The benefit to the manufacturer is extended reach and awareness for their products.

Essential Functions:

This account management position is responsible for building relationships and working with Brand, Generic and Specialty Pharmaceutical manufacturers to sell Cardinal Health marketing programs to Cardinal Health customers. This position is the primary sales and marketing interface with these manufacturers and has responsibility for driving sales and developing programs that meet their marketing and product promotion needs.

The Senior Consultant, Manufacturer Marketing Services, is responsible for these key areas:

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Work with assigned set of manufacturers to establish and grow relationships/business
  • Meet annual sales goals
  • Assess the needs of manufacturers and incorporate their goals and objectives into customized marketing plans.
  • Demonstrate to the customer the defined value of partnering with Cardinal Health both pre- and post-sales.
  • Present Cardinal Health program offerings and negotiate marketing contracts with all manufacturer partners including Trade Representatives, Director/VP’s, Marketing, Product Managers, Presidents/CEOs, etc.
  • Be the primary expert on the marketing goals of assigned pharmaceutical manufacturers and keep abreast of pharmaceutical industry trends
  • Assist in research, development, and positioning of MBDG and Cardinal Health marketing programs
  • Work with Implementation team to ensure quality and timely program execution.
  • Assist in the development of communication materials, presentations, and marketing collateral for manufacturers.

Qualifications:

Reports to: Manager, Marketing Management - Manufacturer Marketing Services

Supervises: None

Education: Bachelors Degree with emphasis in Marketing or Business Administration.

Knowledge/Skills Requirements: Must have prior healthcare sales experience. Working within the Pharmaceutical Industry is preferred. Excellent presentation and communication skills are required. Ability to handle a multitude of tasks and projects simultaneously.
