What Operations Analytics contributes to Cardinal Health

Operations Analytics is responsible for data and technology management to support and enable Operations processes including data mining, business analysis, data integrity, data acquisition, technology and business systems analysis and functionality, reporting and analysis. Uses standard and specialized business software tools to assist Operations in managing business processes and performance.


  • Works with business leadership to define, develop, implement, and continually improve new and existing business processes that are necessary to support and execute Same Day Services for customers (from quote to cash)
  • Develops processes and tools / methods for conducting and presenting customer opportunity analyses and assessments
  • Supports the Sales and Account Management team by performing new customer opportunity assessments to define current and future state scenarios; works with internal and external business partners to determine support models, resources, and pricing for potential customers
  • Assists Sales and Account Managers with the preparation of assessment results and presentation materials for customer sales meetings
  • Conducts periodic assessments of existing markets and customers to identify network and mode/service optimization and efficiency improvement opportunities to benefit customers and the business
  • Works with business leadership and service partners to implement service changes across the Same Day Services offering, or at the request of specific customers
  • Assists Account Managers with the preparation of service performance reports and presentation materials for customer business reviews
  • Champion of standard and custom reporting related to Same Day Services; develops strategies for managing Same Day Services data and integrating Same Day Services data into existing OptiFreight data sets and reports
  • Works with business leadership to implement and continually develop Same Day Services technology used to execute internal business processes and deliver the desired customer experience
  • Support the development and maintenance of training materials for Same Day Services
  • Assists with other tasks or projects as assigned


  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience; college coursework in Logistics/Transportation, Supply Chain Management, Statistics, Business, or Operations Management preferred
  • Three or more years of related work experience
  • Prior experience utilizing a Transportation Management System (TMS) or Courier Management System (CMS) desirable
  • Strong analytics skills and financial acumen; comfortable working with large, complex data sets
  • Process oriented approach with a focus on continual improvement
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Flexible and responsive attitude capable of managing multiple, shifting priorities
  • Must display a high level of organization skills and the ability to work independently
