Marketing is responsible for assessing customer needs, market conditions and competition to inform business strategy. Marketing implements the strategy through developing, commercializing and monitoring the appropriate products and services.
Product Management is responsible for developing global product strategy, managing the product portfolio, and managing the life cycle of products in the portfolio to optimize revenue growth and business performance. Product management develops and executes the product plan in collaboration with the regions, prioritizes the product pipeline and regulatory filings, and is responsible for all phases of the product life cycle including discovery and innovation, new product planning, new product introduction, and product portfolio related aspects of post-launch product management. Product management also is responsible for developing the pricing strategy and positioning of products across regions working with its regional marketing counterparts. Product management shares responsibility for achieving revenue and growth objectives across the regions.
Help manage the product life cycle of a product line or a portfolio of product lines from discovery and innovation, to new product planning, new product introduction, post-launch product management, and product retirement.
Contribute to the global product strategy for a product line(s), working with both regional marketing leaders.
Demonstrate intermediate knowledge of marketing and product management disciplines necessary for building business plans, product plans, and marketing plans. Utilize market trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning to develop preferred product offerings for targeted segments and regions.
Understand methods available to execute primary research that are necessary to drive product line/portfolio decisions. Help identify market opportunities through primary and secondary market research and take action by implementing and managing solutions that meet customer needs.
Identify and remain current on market trends. Determine product lifecycle implications and make decisions to drive market competitiveness and to achieve sustainable economic success.
Assist in translating market and customer needs across multiple regions into clearly defined product requirements and product line strategy.
Ensure that all promotional, launch, and marketing activities align with the overall product line strategy and facilitate proper communication and collaboration with all applicable marketing resources across regions.
Demonstrate basic financial acumen and logical decision making in the general business environment. Support the development of business cases, investment requests, forecasting, pricing, deal structures, and assessing strategic options.
Influence and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including R&D, sourcing, manufacturing, enterprise marketing, enterprise contracting, strategic pricing, customer service, DMG, finance, quality, regulatory, legal, inventory, regional and others.

Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience
4+ years experience in related field, preferred.
