Position Summary

Under direction of the National Vice of Sales, this role leads a dispersed team who promote Cardinal Health’s Specialty Services and Solutions, ensuring market share growth and profitability in target accounts. In addition to creating appropriate product demand, this sales leader will build long-term relationships with their team and appropriate colleagues across Specialty Solutions.

Due to the complexity of the sales cycle, this role requires an enhanced “leadership” skill set; it is critical this individual has the ability to identify development opportunities for their team and link those opportunities to increased sales, customer satisfaction and team culture.

Position Accountabilities

  • Provide leadership and direction for multiple sales teams representing the above-mentioned various Specialty Distribution service offerings
  • May work through VPs and Directors or directly with front-line sales professionals
  • Provides motivation, monitoring and feedback, training and development to improve team, enhance in-unit sales and cross-selling across units
  • Able to manage and close key clients and engagements personally
  • Leverage Extensive healthcare provider facing relationships to best position Cardinal Health Specialty Solutions
  • Develop and execute aggressive Sales plan that support profitable growth initiatives
  • Manage an organizational budget
  • Accountable to the National Vice President to deliver agreed top-line sales and profitability
  • Approve significant policies and procedures that will result in the achievement of organizational goals
  • Develop and implements functional and/or operational strategy
  • Experience making decisions that have serious impact on overall success or failure on area of accountability and external stakeholders
  • Interact with all levels of internal and/or external leaders
  • Influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance
  • Drive use and adoption of sales framework and tools through the selling organization
  • Create reports/metrics/dashboards to monitor sales team performance in Salesforce.com
  • Ensure sales compensation plan and design is aligned with business objectives

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree preferred
  • 10+ years healthcare sales leadership experience
  • Ability to travel 70 percent of time
  • Excellent leadership skills, planning, forecasting, negotiation and presentation skills; strong ability to develop relationships internally and externally
