What Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health
Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc. Also responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers.
Manages a staff of 1-2 direct reports and 30 indirect reports
Accountable for the P&L including building, distribution, transportation and light assembly, and manufacturing
Works with corporate, human resources, sales force and customers on a daily basis
Ensures the timely distribution and receipt of product while meeting the distribution center standards of budget, policies, procedures and quality
Responsible for the development of the supervisory and employee population, which includes training, coaching, counseling and performance appraisals
Maintains positive employee relations
High school diploma required degree strongly preferred
3-5 years operations leadership experience
3-5 years experience in a distribution, warehouse, cross-dock, supply chain or manufacturing environment ( strongly preferred in a management role)
Strong communication and leadership skills
Prior knowledge of Lean Six Sigma processes preferred
Knowledge of an ERP and Warehouse Management system
Transportation Management a Plus
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products
