As a Manager, Software Engineering of our Global Cloud Data Analytics Team, you will be asked to contribute to and own components of the data management process. We are looking for someone who is comfortable with change, working in an agile group, managing a team of direct reports, and continuous learning. Data Analytics is responsible for understanding, preparing, processing and analyzing data to make the data valuable and useful for operational and/or decision making purposes. Data Analytics may need to team with either Business Intelligence, Advanced Analytics and Data Governance positions to create highly useful information. The position will also be responsible for the below accountabilities:

  • Manage a technical team of direct full time associates and a team of consultants
  • Understand and execute agile methodologies throughout processes
  • Uses knowledge of business objectives, strategies, and needs to identify opportunities where data can be leveraged to achieve the desired business benefits.
  • Has an understanding of current data context, processes and availability, and how current data processes and existing data can be leveraged to achieve the desired benefits.
  • Prepares and analyzes data. This can include: locating, profiling, cleansing, extracting, mapping, importing, transforming, validating or modeling.
  • Applies query, data exploration and transformation, basic statistical methods and visualization techniques to create business insights or improve data quality.
  • Performs validation and testing to confirm the accuracy of the information created.
    Interprets results of analyses, identifies trends and issues, and develops recommendations to support business objectives.
  • Communicates complex information so that it is easy to understand and influences other to take action based on the useful information provided.
  • Leads team to gather requirements from customers, partners and internal stakeholders
  • Manages products roadmaps and investment strategy collaborating with key stakeholders to gain alignment
  • Work collaborative within the agile scrum master/iteration masters and project managers
  • Develop exceptional user stories that drive the team to build incrementally towards solutions that deliver tremendous value to our current and future customers
  • Collaborate across teams to provide transparency into upcoming releases driving both product and organizational readiness for new releases
  • Demonstrates knowledge of software development techniques and fluency in software languages and application programming interfaces.
  • Demonstrates general understanding of AWS platforms including but not limited to reporting platforms, data warehouses, databases, and integration technologies.
  • Plans and executes system implementations that ensure success and minimize risk of system outages or other negative production impacts.
  • Demonstrates problem solving ability that allows for effective and timely resolution of system issues including but not limited to production outages.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of software development, life cycle, modeling of business processes, application design patterns, business/functional documents. Estimates to high level business requirements and provide options analysis.
  • Works collaboratively with business partners, project managers, and scrum masters to prioritize work

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years experience in related field preferred
  • Ability to develop teams and lead people
  • Strong data analytics skills preferred
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal skills preferred
  • Comfortable with change and being a change driver that is committed to continuous improvement
  • Working knowledge of Lean Leadership principles
  • Hands on analytical tool skills preferred and experience with such applications as Tableau, Alteryx, Business Objects or similar technologies
  • Experience in an agile environment, along with the ability to streamline processes within an agile environment
  • Experience working in data analytics
  • Working knowledge of AWS and cloud technologies
  • Extremely organized with demonstrated ability to establish priorities and achieve results
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to work comfortably in an evolving environment and convert ambiguity to clarity
  • Ability to define work processes and lead team members in successful implementation and ongoing execution

Software Engineering is responsible for designing, developing, implementing and supporting applications, systems and IT products required to achieve the company's business objectives.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of software development techniques and fluency in software languages and application programming interfaces.
